Happy Thursday! A lot has been happening here at Lumos. We’ve given the AppStore a completely new fresh coat of paint and added a few new features and integrations to make governing your apps a little easier. Plus, scroll to the bottom to learn more about our brand new vision for Lumos 2.0 from our fearless leader, Andrej.
We have a lot to get through in this email, so let’s get to it!
Request
Request Apps Faster with AppStore 2.0
Time is a precious commodity in any organization. With new design features and streamlined functionality, the new AppStore gives end-users and IT app admins a faster, more intuitive way to find the right app for any job. All this without dealing with manual provisioning processes and ticket overload.
Streamlined User Interface: We removed unnecessary screens and steps, letting you request an app in fewer clicks.
Responsive Interface: We added responsive layouts that adapt to different devices, making it easier to use the AppStore on tablets and smartphones.
Useful App Descriptions: Now you have more room to write helpful app descriptions for your employees so they have more context on the apps they’re requesting.
Clear Error Messages: No more wondering why you can’t complete an app request! Now you’ll be served with the exact reason behind an app request error.
In-Depth App History: Users and app admins can now see the full request history as part of the request flow.
Improved App Discoverability: We’ve added alphabetical sorting from A-Z or Z-A to help you find the apps you need, faster.
It’s no secret that while access reviews are needed to protect customer data and keep your auditors happy, completing them is never quite…fun. With our AccessReviewer, the process is streamlined. We integrate directly with the applications you use and collect information, such as entitlement data, to give you a central source of truth.
We’ve now added Google Cloud as an integration. This addition makes it easier to review employee access to projects, conduct access reviews for Google Cloud, and revoke access where necessary.
Have you ever tried logging in to an application you need, only to see that it’s not working and you have no idea why? We thought so. We’ve built a status page so you can keep a real-time pulse on the health and status of Lumos.
Through the status page, we can report outages and incidents that come up, keep you updated on our incident resolution process, announce scheduled maintenance and downtime hours, and highlight our uptime and platform health. Plus, you can subscribe to our status page to get immediate notifications on any issues.
Here are a few more new features that we released this month to make managing your SaaS environment easier. Reach out to the team over Slack or email to learn more!
Pre-Approved Time-Based Access: Want to limit the time someone has access to any app but still streamline the approval process? Now you can. Pre-approve access for a couple hours to a few days to employees, such as an on-call engineer who needs production database access, and automatically deprovision access after the time limit has been hit.
Tableau Integration: Lumos now integrates with Tableau, including support for Tableau Cloud (hosted and single site), and Tableau Server (self-hosted and multi-site). You can now list, suspend, and deprovision Tableau users through Lumos as well as see entitlements such as user role, license, and groups.
Atlassian Accountfinder: Easily discover sub-products of the Atlassian family such as Jira, Trello and Confluence. As well, see users per product, last login per product or all of Atlassian, and deprovision users from all of Atlassian.
HTML Rich Text Capabilities in App Descriptions: Admins can add clickable links to external docs and richer formatting to text in app descriptions to give employees more information in a digestible format.
License Limit Alerts: It can be hard to keep track of hundreds of software vendors and licenses, leading to surprise true-up emails from a vendor. Lumos now lets you set license limit alerts where you can be notified if a certain percentage or a certain number of licenses are being used, and take proactive action to reduce unnecessary license usage.

Announcing Lumos 2.0
When we first launched, our mission was to take on the APPocalypse. However, as we’ve watched the world shift and macroeconomic trends change, we saw an opportunity to reimagine Lumos. We’re excited to announce Lumos 2.0 — one platform to govern cloud and app access and slash software costs, eliminate IT tickets, and enforce least privilege.
Read our latest blog from our CEO, Andrej, where he shares more about our new vision, why 2023 is such a pivotal year, and how IT and security teams are key in this new environment.
